SHIMBA RAINFOREST LODGE

Set discreetly in the heart of an ancient tropical rain forest, Shimba is constructed from indigenous timber that blends perfectly into the surrounding forest vegetation. It is the only tree hotel on the Kenyan coast, and shares this scenic home with herds of sable antelope, elephant, buffalo, civet and genet cat – all popular at the floodlit waterhole. All thirty rooms (not en suite) are quite small but well designed with big windows and vantage points that overlook the waterhole.
